About Praxis MD

Praxis MD is the U.S. healthcare provider directory, rebuilt for the people who actually use NPPES data every day — credentialers, billing teams, recruiters, compliance staff, and B2B teams selling into healthcare.

Why we built this

The official NPPES registry is the system of record but is not built for daily workflow use. Other public directories are dated, ad-laden, and stop at raw fields. We built Praxis MD to bring NPPES data to life with practice rollups, change history, multi-state credentialing context, and verification workflows.

Editor

Praxis MD is maintained by Rome Thorndike. The data, methodology, and publication standards described in our methodology page are his responsibility. The directory and its supporting infrastructure are operated by Verum Labs / Provyx.

What this is and isn't

Praxis MD is a directory + intelligence layer over public NPPES data. We publish provider records, hub pages by specialty and geography, and the weekly Provider Pulse newsletter on the U.S. healthcare workforce.

Praxis MD is not a credentialing service, a payer enrollment platform, or a malpractice database. NPI presence on this site does not constitute verification of license status or fitness to practice.

How we make money

Praxis MD is free to use. There are no ads, no popups, no paywalls. When organizations need bulk, filtered, or enriched provider lists for outreach, recruiting, or analysis, they hire Provyx, our sister business, to build them. That's the funnel.
